It's a votive candle holder, but it's also a glass sculpture and a beautiful design object. This iconic product from 1974 has been picked out from the archives. Polar in black and clear glass is mouth-blown at Kosta Glassworks in Sweden. Design by Göran Wärff.

Göran Wärff

Göran Wärff (1933-2022) was a Swedish designer and artist. As a designer, he found it important how one handles the glass – how it feels and the significance of enjoying the sensation of drinking from a glass. His greatest inspiration was often found in the sea and its variety in color and shape – how it changes its appearance in different parts of the world. Göran has always claimed that glass is like liquid, and that's how he understands it as a material.
