Legendary glass artist Göran Wärff found most of his inspiration in nature – a presence that is evident in his sculpture Orchid. Produced with a free-hand technique, the vase has a unique shape and a different expression for each angle.
“I like it when a piece has content. When it can be alluring from one angle, and you see something else when you turn it."
– Göran Wärff
Göran Wärff (1933-2022) was a doyen of Kosta Boda and the entire Kingdom of Crystal – a legend with a strong connection to our history and who was part of shaping the Swedish glass tradition for more than 60 years. Born on the Swedish island of Gotland, he grew up adoring the waters and was out at sea with the senior pilot from a young age. The legacy of Wärff’s place of origin permeates his art glass, with the endless ocean as his greatest source of inspiration.
