Designed by the contemporary sculptor Ann Wolff, Snowball is made to light up your days and nights, literally.
Ann Wolff, born in 1937, is a German post-war and contemporary sculptor who works with glass as well as metals, resin, and concrete. The internationally acclaimed designer came to Sweden in 1960 and worked for Kosta Boda between 1964-1978.
Ann studied at the school Hochschule in Germany and later via self-studies in France. She’s represented at several international museums and has participated in art exhibitions for both private and public collections. For Kosta Boda, she has designed the famous Snowball. A tealight holder which has brightened people’s homes since 1973 and has sold over 15 million copies.
Throughout her career, she’s received several awards, such as the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award from the Glass Art Society (GAS) located in Seattle, Washington, and the Independent Curator Award from Habatat Galleries in Detroit, Michigan. Her work has, during the years, been presented in solo exhibitions at galleries such as Heller Gallery in New York City and the Mint Museum in Charlotte, North Carolina. Today, she’s represented at the Corning Museum of Glass in New York City and at a wide selection of European galleries.
