Product Information
First introduced in 1974, Sunflower by Kosta Boda is a timeless collection of votives designed by Göran Wärff. Inspired by the beauty of nature and the interplay of light, the collection has become an iconic example of Wärff’s expressive glass design. This large green votive brings the sculptural form of a sunflower to life in richly colored glass, creating a warm and luminous accent when illuminated. Part of Kosta Boda’s reissue catalogue, it is brought back from the archives for a new generation to enjoy. Sunflower is made using a two-step cast production technique, relying on a perfect balance of gravity, skill, and experience to unite the flower and stem.

Göran Wärff
Göran Wärff (1933-2022) was a doyen of Kosta Boda and the entire Kingdom of Crystal – a legend with a strong connection to our history and who was part of shaping the Swedish glass tradition for more than 60 years. Born on the Swedish island of Gotland, he grew up adoring the waters and was out at sea with the senior pilot from a young age. The legacy of Wärff’s place of origin permeates his art glass, with the endless ocean as his greatest source of inspiration.
