Infinitum Ld-30 Wall Piece

Infinitum is a sand-casted Janus head by Bertil Vallien, in which one half is awake and the other asleep—mounted on a painted wooden panel. Since the mid-1990s, this dual nature has become a recurring theme in Vallien’s work, linked to the Roman god Janus, the god of dawn and dusk. In Infinitum, the head gains a new dimension through its encounter with the painted wooden background. Infinitum is produced in a limited edition of 30 pieces and is cast in Kosta.
