Product Information

After one of his visits to the USA in the 80s, Swedish glass artist Kjell Engman got the inspiration to create Happiness based on the women he saw perform in a gospel choir at a church in Harlem, New York. The women were filled with the joy of life – singing and dancing. The memory of these women and their shape has stayed with him, and he has since then eternalized the memory with curvaceous women in glass. The object is handmade at Kosta Glassworks in Sweden, with hand-painted details, and is part of the Kosta Boda Artist Collection.

A Colorful Artist

Kjell Engman

Kjell Engman (born in 1946) comes from a family of musicians and has a background as a professional rock musician, mainly as a guitarist. His musical legacy emerges in his art glass, not only through his familiar glass instruments but also in the melodic, dancing feel and "joie de vivre" radiated through many of his objects and figurines.
