Collection: Make Up

Kosta Boda's collection Make Up came to be as a smaller version of Åsa Jungnelius’ own art installation “I Like Your Hairstyle!” where gigantic beauty items in glass were presented in a surreal shopping environment. Like most of this contemporary artist's work, Make Up is a feminist statement connected to society's relationship with shopping and beauty.

Artist Inspired by Feminism

Åsa Jungnelius

Åsa Jungnelius (born in 1975) lives and works in Stockholm and in Månsamåla, Sweden, where she previously shared the glassworks with the celebrated Kosta Boda artist Ulrica Hydman Vallien, her mentor and a great source of inspiration. In 2004, the artist had her first major success with her degree project created for one of Sweden's most prestigious art and design universities, called “I like your hairstyle!” In the installation, she created a surrealist shopping scene with objects that spark desire.
