Product Information

Winner of the Red Dot Award Best of the Best

Crackle and thunder – a magical wonder! At Kosta Boda, we marvel at beautifully preserved cracks in glass. The bowl in circular glass from the Crackle collection has an expressive, sculptural exterior created using an old handicraft technique where the hot glass is dipped in ice-cold water. The circular glass that Crackle Circular is made of, makes the products shift in color, and the small bubbles created during the process of making circular glass into a new product, make each bowl unique. Mouth-Blown and Handmade in Kosta, Sweden, designed by Åsa Jungnelius.

Åsa Jungnelius

Åsa Jungnelius (born in 1975) lives and works in Stockholm and in Månsamåla, Sweden, where she previously shared the glassworks with the celebrated Kosta Boda artist Ulrica Hydman Vallien, her mentor and a great source of inspiration. In 2004, the artist had her first major success with her degree project created for one of Sweden's most prestigious art and design universities, called “I like your hairstyle!” In the installation, she created a surrealist shopping scene with objects that spark desire.
